FAQ's for Parents
Why do the U9 and U10 divisions not have a "Champion" awarded? Scores are not kept for U9 & U10 divisions, as they are still developmental age groups. U11 is where CJSA begins scoring and ranking, our tournament follows those guidelines.
Can my team tailgate? Yes, and we encourage it! There will be designated areas for tailgating on the field. Rye Street Park is a town facility and alcohol free. Do not tailgate in the parking area. Easy ups/tables/chairs are encouraged. Please use stakes with ALL tents.
Will there be food? Yes, we will have several food trucks to offer food to our guests. Our concession stand will be open for beverages, candy and chips only.
How long are the games? 40 min each game, no halftime. Start/stop on airhorn.
If my child is in the older divisions U11/U12 how do I know the rankings? You can download the app to follow your team, and have the schedule right at your fingertips! We also have a scoring booth near the food trucks where you can come see the scores.
What flights will have "Champions"? Boys and Girls U11/U12 ALL flights will have one winner, based on points.
Why do you start/stop with an airhorn? We have found this a very effective way to keep all games running on time. We have about 100 games per day during the tournament and it is very important for them to be on time with the referees moving to different fields.
Do I have to check in at registration with my player? No, your coach will check the team in as a whole. The coach will also receive a commemorative pin for your child in their coaching bag.
What are the medals that the coach gives out at each game? Sportsmanship medals. They are given to one player on the opposing team for displaying good sportsmanship during the game.
Does your Park have real bathrooms? We DO have real bathrooms located in the building with our concession stand, near Bobcat Village. Porta's on sight as well
Can we drive our car on the tailgating areas? No, Many teams bring beach wagons to haul stuff to the fields.
What is the address of the field? 440 Rye Street South Windsor CT 06074
Where should I park? If your games are on fields 1 or 2 I would recommend you try to park in the dirt lot just past the main entrance near Basketball court. It will be closer for you. All others the main parking area is best.
Do you allow Team Tents? Yes, however they MUST be staked for the safety of players and spectators.
